This national adoption (GOST R) establishes functional and interface requirements for on‑line data communication used within safety‑important (category A) instrumentation & control systems at nuclear power plants. It defines categorization of communication functions, interface requirements between category A equipment and other systems, and requirements for reliability, separation/isolation and qualification of communication links. The document excludes general voice/telephony/public communication methods and internal processor memory/control‑logic connections. The GOST R text is identical (IDT) to the referenced international edition.
