Full title and description
Abstract
This set of rules provides unified technical requirements for the design and construction of industrial transport systems used at industrial sites and enterprises. It covers planning, earthworks, track and road structures, station and loading/unloading facilities, signaling and communication requirements, drainage and hydraulic works, safety and operation provisions, and requirements for reconstruction and modernization. The document is intended to consolidate and update earlier СНиП provisions for industrial transport into an actionable design code.

- Number of pages: Approximately 227–240 pages depending on the printed/electronic edition and inclusion of amendments (varies by publisher edition).
Scope
The scope covers design rules for industrial transport systems at production and extraction sites, processing plants, ports and terminals where industrial-scale internal and external transport is required. Specific sections address each transport type (rail 1520 mm and 750 mm, industrial roads, hydraulic channels and systems, suspended ropeways, conveyors), and common supporting infrastructure (earthworks, drainage, road pavements, stations, loading/unloading facilities, signaling and communication, power supply, safety and environmental protection). The rules apply to new construction, reconstruction, technical re-equipment and capital repairs.
Key topics and requirements
- Design principles for different types of industrial transport: requirements differentiated by rail gauge (1520 mm and 750 mm), automotive, hydraulic, ropeway and conveyor systems.
- Planning and alignment: layout of plans and longitudinal profiles, station and yard arrangement, spacing and gradients for efficient operation.
- Earthworks and subgrade: embankment and excavation standards, compaction, allowable tolerances and drainage provisions for industrial roadways and tracks.
- Track and pavement design: upper track structure, rail selection, sleeper and fastening systems, pavement composition and structural designs for industrial roads and heavy vehicle traffic.
- Stations, loading/unloading and handling facilities: platform heights, transshipment layouts, storage and access requirements for safe and efficient material handling.
- Signaling, communication and electrical supply: requirements for interlocking, control, communications infrastructure and non-traction power supply for industrial transport sites.
- Hydraulic structures and drainage: design criteria for canals, drains, culverts and related hydraulic works serving transport corridors and loading areas.
- Safety, operational and maintenance rules: provisions for personnel facilities, workshops, inspection points, emergency access and occupational safety measures.
- Requirements for reconstruction, technical re-equipment and capital repair: rules for assessing existing facilities, upgrade criteria and compatibility with current standards.
Typical use and users
Primary users include civil and railway engineers, transport and infrastructure designers, project organizations, operators of mines, quarries, processing plants, ports and large industrial enterprises, contractors and construction supervisors, regulatory bodies and technical auditors. The document is used in project documentation preparation, design verification, construction acceptance and operational planning for industrial transport facilities.
Related standards
SP 37.13330.2012 is the updated edition of СНиП 2.05.07-91*. Related or commonly referenced standards and rule-sets include other SP documents covering roads, bridges and hydraulic structures (for example SP 34.13330.2012 — Automobile roads; SP 35.13330.2011 — Bridges and pipes; SP 58.13330.2012 — Hydraulic structures), plus relevant ГОСТs for materials, testing and geotechnical procedures. National technical regulations and amendments that affect construction practice should also be consulted when applying these rules.
